Sunshine and Soil

Hi, I'm Michaelle, born and raised in sunny south Florida. After spending over ten years traveling the world as a chef, adventure travel blogger, and yoga teacher, I’ve found my way back home.  Now, I’m all about sharing the amazing fruit that grows right here in my own backyard.

Florida is full of tropical fruit, and my goal is to source the freshest, cleanest ingredients I can find, straight from local farmers. I look for fruit that’s grown as naturally as possible, without all the chemical sprays and pesticides. Just real, good fruit, grown close to home.

I’m also always on the hunt for new and interesting varieties-the kind of fruit you don’t usually see at the grocery store. If it’s local, grown with care, and a little off the beaten path, I want to try to share it.

Alongside fruit, my husband Eric and I also run a small ornamental tree farm where we grow magnolia, cypress, and olive trees whose leaves get used in beautiful holiday wreaths, bouquets, and garlands. I am very much into baking sourdough and I specialize in bagels, breads, and english muffins. We hope to roll those products out in the first quarter of next year. We've also begun a small nursery where we'll be selling herbs and veggie starts in the future.

We're also growing many tropical fruits including pineapple and dragonfruit. It’s all part of the same mission- connecting with the land, cultivating what we love to eat, and supporting Florida agriculture.

Whether you’re a fellow fruit lover, plant enthusiast, or just curious to try something new, I’m glad you’re here.
